About

As an explorer of ideas, I attempt to navigate an examined life with passion, perseverance and hopefully humility.

I am passionate about understanding the extreme engineering required for astronautics and dedicated to finding a way to use this knowledge to give back to the world.

For a decade I have chased the winds across oceans onboard traditional tar soaked ships and now it’s the salt breeze and stony earth of the Swedish west coast that I call home.

Currently

Engineering within additive manufacturing is my day job. I work together with an extremely talented team of researchers, engineers, and scientists at RISE – Research Institutes of Sweden.

Additive manufacturing is still in its infancy, but the field and technologies are growing exponentially. I attempt to do my part as a stepping stone towards the Star Trek replicator future-of-abundance in our starry-eyed dreams.

My Education is within astronautical engineering. My current focus surrounds all aspects of large scale additive manufacturing using an ABB industrial robot arm developed at RISE together with ABB. We call this IRBAM – Industrial Robotic Additive Manufacturing.

Background

Born and raised with my hands on machines and my mind in the rolling Appalachian nature of central Pennsylvania. I would spend many full years learning from amazing people, farmers, builders, entrepreneurs and friends. I also enjoyed building and tinkering in solitude with a welder and a box of scrap steel, where my ideas and creativity could flourish. Today, people call us makers.

Pennsylvania white tail buck sculpted in scrap steel banding, welded and mounted on fallen black walnut finished with linseed oil. Own work.
